Varsha Kottamasu’s interest in health administration began during her time at the University of Georgia, where she received a Bachelor of Science in health promotion. There, she was able to gain a greater understanding of the intersection between business and medicine in the classroom and as an intern at several healthcare organizations, such as Emory, Mount Sinai, and Piedmont Healthcare. Many of her projects concerned system operations, process improvement, and patient satisfaction. This practical experience motivated Varsha to pursue a career in the field and led her to Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she is currently completing her second year in the master’s in health administration program. Varsha is the 2020-2021 administrative resident at MedStar Institute for Innovation and MedStar Emergency Physicians.
