Manager, Telehealth Initiatives, MedStar Telehealth Innovation Center
Roland Walker serves as an initiatives manager with the MedStar Telehealth Innovation Center (MTIC), working to further the creative adoption of innovative healthcare delivery methods systemwide. He has always enjoyed helping others—so, naturally, he found his way to health care.
Roland has progressive experience with MedStar Health and began his career in 2006 working for MedStar Georgetown Radiation Oncology. Prior to joining MTIC he served as an administrator for the MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute (MGTI), where he oversaw four locations—two of which he helped open—and managed day-to-day operations and clinical/non-clinical staff. His areas of specialty include interdepartmental process improvement, strategic planning, administration, and billing.
In 2015, Roland joined MedStar Georgetown’s Patient and Family Advisory Council for Quality and Safety (PFACQS)—a board consisting of patients, family members, and hospital leaders—to better understand others’ views on the state of health care while working toward providing the safest and highest quality care to our community. Roland endeavors to utilize his personal and work experiences, perspectives, and passions to help improve health care and is excited to be a part of a team that shares those similar goals.
Roland received his bachelor’s in management studies with a minor in healthcare administration from the University of Maryland University College.
