Director, MedStar Innovation and Design (MIND) Lab
Laura leads the MedStar Institute for Innovation’s effort to make the MIND Lab, and its related platforms and technologies, the lightning rod for igniting innovation energy across MedStar Health. The MIND Lab is a prime vehicle for disseminating the core components of innovation energy—purpose, optimism, curiosity, agency, and connection. Laura’s role encompasses operations, strategic planning, program development, marketing, and customer service.
Laura began with MedStar Health in Operational Communications, where she served as director, strategic communications outreach. In that role, Laura managed communications outreach activities, events, and recruiting, and served as the department’s finance manager.
Prior to joining MedStar Health in 2016, Laura spent the majority of her career leading conference and event teams producing complex, technical programs for up to 6,000 participants for government, nonprofit, and for-profit organizations such as the National Institutes of Health, Neustar, INFORMS, Sylvan Learning, and Marriott. She managed high-performing teams and all aspects of strategic planning, program design, logistics, and execution.
