Senior Director, Learning Research and Design
Dr. Walker has a broad technical background in the development of training and assessments for complex cognitive and perceptual skills, as well as a scientific background in human factors psychology and psychophysiology, with a concentration in cardiovascular psychophysiology, simulator sickness, and physiological measurement of workload and performance. Dr. Walker serves as Senior Director of Learning Research and Design for MedStar Health's Simulation Training & Education Lab (MedStar SiTEL), which provides clinical simulation and educational content and delivery solutions for MedStar Health. Dr. Walker has previous experience serving as a principal investigator and project manager on a wide range of projects involving the application of Human Factors and other behavioral science principles to the complex problems faced by the Department of Defense. Dr. Walker holds a PhD in Human Factors Psychology and an MS in Applied Psychology from Clemson University, in addition to a certification as an Associate Human Factors Professional from the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics.
