Director, Human Factors Safety Integration
Grace brings significant experience in applying human factors and usability methods to design innovative system safety solutions. She serves as the central connection point between the Human Factors Center and MedStar Health Quality and Safety ensuring collaborative efforts and sharing information and expertise as a senior member of both teams and with joint accountability to leadership. Grace leads the program development and performance improvement of the MedStar Safety Program through the integration of human factors engineering and safety science to guide the Safety team in their work to implement innovative and effective culture change. She also leads human factors event reviews and hazard analyses, which includes data gathering, analysis, reporting and development of effective and sustainable solutions. Grace holds a bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering and master’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering/Human Factors Engineering & Ergonomics, both from Virginia Tech.
